My Philosophy
I offer a holistic, intuitive, natural, and evidence-based approach to medicine.
In order to create whole health we must support the whole person, this includes the body, soul (mind and emotions) and spirit.
Healing happens through loving connection within (between our mind, body and spirit) and with others (community and relationships)
Health symptoms, thoughts and emotions act as messengers, informing us of imbalances in the:
body (ie. nutrient deficiencies, hormone imbalances, gut microbiome dysbiosis)
mind (ie. maladaptive thought patterns, limiting beliefs, stuck emotions)
spirit (ie. hopelessness, lack of meaning in life, feeling disconnected from oneself, the world and God)
Integrative medicine is the best approach. Testing is always individualized and can include conventional testing methods, functional medicine testing, and muscle testing to guide treatment recommendations. Press here to learn more about naturopathic medicine treatments.
The best healthcare is individualized care. I combine research, my clinical experience, your symptoms and your test results to create treatment plans specific to you and your health goals.
Healthcare should be collaborative. I am a part of your healthcare team and often work alongside other practitioners to support your health (counsellors, medical doctors, osteopaths, etc.)
The intention is set for appointments to be a safe, compassionate and non-judgmental space of gentle inquiry. Together, we listen to your thoughts, emotions and the messages being expressed through your body as physical symptoms. We work as a team to create an effective and implementable treatment plan to promote health.
If you’ve ever heard the term “Laughter is the best medicine”, it’s true! Not only does research show that laughter improves health, I too enjoy laughter. It is not uncommon for laughter to be part of your appointment.
A reminder, love heals! There is research that supports this too!
Health is a journey.
This statement acknowledges that each individuals journey is unique and sacred. Every individual differs in their body’s state of health and symptoms, thought patterns, beliefs, life experiences, trauma (personal and generational), health goals and life goals.
Health is for life and, as such, requires intentional, daily, health-conscious choices to sustain and optimize.
This statement acknowledges the obstacles that can arise during the journey. As frustrating as this can be, it creates an opportunity to pause, listen and reflect on what the body, mind and heart is expressing, while we set the intention and create a plan to overcome the present obstacle, together.
Finally, this statement creates space for personal growth. Healing is a journey that can bring you into deeper relationship with yourself. Throughout the journey, there is opportunity for self-reflection and, as a result, greater self-awareness and a better understanding of behaviours, priorities, values, thoughts, and emotions. This can lead to a greater sense of wholeness, connection, purpose, peace, presence (living in the present moment), a greater capacity to love, and the development of new health-practices that promote continued physical health, mental health, emotional well-being and spiritual growth.
My Story
My lens of practice is very much informed by my personal health journey. From mental health, to gastrointestinal illnesses, hormonal imbalances and physical injuries (brought on through playing competitive sports), I have been given the opportunity to witness the power of the body to heal. I noticed that I made more progress towards my health goals when I started to support my mental, emotional and spiritual well-being, alongside my physical health. It was through a holistic approach that acknowledged and supported my whole being, that I received healing.
I am grateful for my journey so far and all the growth I experienced along the way, and I am looking forward to supporting you in your health journey!
